Ekol signed a deal with Enka to add\u00a0<b>25 German Schmitz refrigerated trucks<\/b>\u00a0to its fleet by September 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Having commenced cold chain freight operations in 2011, and executed successful projects in this segment ever since, Ekol also recently invested in\u00a0<b>25 Mercedes Actros trucks<\/b>\u00a0for new refrigerated vehicles. Ekol&#8217;s investment in these vehicles amounts to a total of\u00a0<b>3.5 million \u20ac.<\/b>[\/vc_column_text][mk_image src=&#8221;\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/frigofrik-arac.jpg&#8221; lightbox=&#8221;true&#8221;][vc_column_text disable_pattern=&#8221;false&#8221;]The vehicles were manufactured in accordance with the customers&#8217; needs and requirements. Many features of the custom-made fleet of refrigerated trucks produced in Europe for Ekol make it stand out among the competition. Thanks to the\u00a0<b>clear internal height of 280 cm<\/b>, these vehicles offer enough place to load\u00a0<b>135 cm in height pallets on 2 stages<\/b>\u00a0without getting on each other. Furthermore, all temperature controlled vehicles, especially designed to carry sensitive drugs, are equipped with additional sensors so as to carry the relevant load at\u00a0<b>2 distinct temperature levels<\/b>. Thanks to these features of refrigerated trucks, cargoes for 2 distinct projects requiring 2 distinct temperature levels can now be carried simultaneously on a single vehicle. Due to this investment, Ekol will be able to provide its customers a major drug distribution service in accordance with the new standards of the\u00a0<b>GPD guidelines<\/b>\u00a0on which\u00a0<b>the Ministry of Health<\/b>\u00a0is currently working and has been started to be implemented in Europe. Furthermore, the vehicles comprise\u00a0<b>Turkey&#8217;s first mega refrigerated fleet<\/b>\u00a0capable of operating at two regimes and compatible with both road and rail transportation. Thus, the trucks are capable of integration with intermodal freight, another area of specialization of Ekol.<\/p>\n<p>With reference to the refrigerated trucks investment,\u00a0<b>\u0130brahim Baki, Ekol&#8217;s Controlled Transport Manager<\/b>\u00a0notes that:[\/vc_column_text][mk_blockquote font_family=&#8221;none&#8221;]We focused more on cold-chain freight services in line with customer requests, and we accelerated out investments in this field.
